Charles Wheatstone

Charles Wheatstone (born in 1802, died in 1875) English inventor considered an expert in the field of codes. In 1857 he created a system that reads and writes information on perforated tape. He developed the wheel cryptographer and its cipher called the “Wheatstone cipher”, later known as the “Playfair cipher,” helped create the first records on computers.
